About Kaziranga
Kaziranga National Park situated in the Golaghat and Nagaon districts in the state of Assam is one of the largest wildlife parks in the world. Kaziranga jungle is a world heritage site and is also one of the world’s most successful conservation stories. Starting with 18 One-horned Rhinoceros, now it is active with more than 1500 of them that is two – thirds of the world’s population of one – horned Rhinos.The fame of the rhinoceros in Assam is immense and has been adopted by the Government of Assam as the state symbol.Apart from Rhinos, Kaziranga also has world’s highest density of Tiger and was declared a Tiger reserve in 2006. Kaziranga jungle is also said to be a home to many other rare animals like elephants, wild water buffalo and swamp deer. For the conservation of avifaunal species, Kaziranga is also recognised as an important bird area by Bird life International.
Kaziranga is situated next to the river Brahmaputra and it has a vast spread of tall elephant grass, marshland and tropical moist broadleaf forest. The park celebrated its centennial in 2005 after its establishment in 1905 as a reserve forest.

we stayed at the green village for 3 days and experienced exotic environment of natural jungle, blended with the lighting that added icing to the cake… Perfect place to stay after hectic work life.
